Chapter Discussions: Instructions

Thank you for your interest in leading one of the chapter discussions at HPfGU! 
We look forward to dissecting the canon with you, one chapter at a time.

You will need to prepare a summary of your assigned chapter and some questions to start up the discussion then email it to the List Elves at HPforGrownups-owner@yahoogroups.com at your earliest convenience.  As the goal is to post on the date listed on the schedule, please email your spell-checked-and-proofread summary/questions no later than the day before.  If you would like feedback, do give us some extra time and we would be glad to toss our two knuts in your direction.

On the date listed on the schedule, you will need to post your summary/questions to the Main list directly (read: if we posted it for you, you will not show up as being the author).  Be sure to include:

* the prefix of "CHAPDISC: HBP" before the number and the title of your chapter in the subject line.  For example, the first chapter discussion's subject line is

CHAPDISC: HBP1, The Other Minister

* a header at the very beginning of your post that includes the following info, substituting the correct number and title for your assignment.  For the first chapter discussion the header is

CHAPTER DISCUSSIONS: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 1, The Other Minister

* this footer at the very end of your post

Once the above requirements are completed, further facilitation of the discussion may be achieved by:

~ keeping an eye on the replies to your summary/questions,
~ helping the discussion along if it should need some encouragement, and
~ steering the threads back on to the chapter currently under dissection.

To find out what chapters are still in need of a discussion leader, please see "HPfGU HBP Chapter Discussions" at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPforGrownups/database .  We would appreciate hearing from volunteers who are willing to stand by, either at large or for specific chapters.
