Yes,Whimsic Alley IS a great place! I've been there a few times,and there are lots of Potter treasures to be found there. But there is a store in Santa Monica called Whimsic Alley, This store is 
basically a Harry Potter Store, it has all things potter. Anyway I was in the 
store the day before the movie came out to buy some last minute items when I 
noticed they were sponsoring a Goblet of Fire screening party. This party was 
for adults and was catered at the store, with much in the way of food and 
drink. The owner was very generous with bags of potter goodies, but the real 
treat was the knight bus to the movie screening. Costumes were mandatory and 
we had a great time as you can imagine.

He is planning this again for the next movie which I highly recommend!
