Accessing the post files

Sounds like you need some unzip software.  The common ones are Winzip 
and PKzip/PKunzip.  It's worth searching your computer files for 
Winzip.* or PKunzip.* as they may be on there somewhere (I think 
Winzip is part of the Windows package, if you use that).

Once you have the software, save the zip files to your hard drive, 
and (if using Winzip) run the software and select the HP zip files to 
be unzipped.  It will probably create a folder with the zip file name 
and the expanded txt files will be in the folder.  

PKunzip is more DOS-based I think.  You have to tell it where the zip 
file is located and where you want the unzipped files stored, then it 
will chug through, inflating all the files.  Winzip is better, I 
think.

The thought of scanning the messages online fills me with horror, as 
I pay normal phone rates for online time [the UK is in the dark ages 
on Internet access, but getting better). It's really much easier 
scrolling through the grouped text files and you can search them too!
