I volunteered to do some of this conversion stuff a loooong time ago, and
was feeling neglectful of obligations. Plus, Monday is a holiday in the
U.S. Yippee!

Good point. I just wanted to see what kind of work the Word-->HTML
conversion would require. I was able to automate a good portion of the
process. The only manual process is error checking, heading format
changes, adding cross links. Depending on the number of intra-FAQ cross
links, I think I have it down to 20 minutes or so (based on the Hermione
Granger FAQ).
As a side note, if Steve or someone else follows my method of using the
PIPER Tool Kit (see earlier message for the link), the HTML output of the
PIPER program was slightly modified. I wrote a sed script to strip out
Font and Superscript tags. It also changes the footnotes to brackets from
that crazy "fn 1" junk. In other words, there is no need to do this kind
of repetition by hand. (I didn't like the dates being superscripted since
line spacing was non-constant.)

True. I took it up to that point. Especially since I didn't get the sense
that decisions were finalized.
I'll hold off on converting. Perhaps I'll pass the time by reading the FAQs!
