Questions (VFAQ) section listing only those questions that make us all cry
"not again!" The intention would be to prevent new members from asking
these questions, which might otherwise be buried in the topical FAQs. We
could just say "see such-and-such FAQ" rather than writing yet another
summary for each."
This sounds like quite a good idea - some of the suggestions would lead to
simple straight answers (such as November the whatever it is for the film
release) and others to refer people to the relevant FAQ's.

'Boggart of my collection' - LOL.
That would very definitely describe the Harry FAQ IMO. There are just so
many messages to wade through, and wade through I am. I have not read most
of the group messages that have appeared in the last 3 weeks. I intend to
only read them once for the purpose of seeing if any were relevant for my
FAQ's. Hopefully not too many are - otherwise I may be months away from
completing my FAQ's!
I wrote: "Also do we want someone to take a copy of the FAQ (welcome message
to the group), that Melanie hosts on her website, and the GoF schedule and
host them elsewhere, so they can be updated as needed?"
Penny replied: "I think we're going to need to do this. Um .... Heidi?
Paul? Any ideas how to go about this?? Help!"
As I see it we would need somewhere else to host the pages (I think there
are only two relevant ones - the introduction page
(http://www.geocities.com/ravenclawlady/grownups.html) and the GoF
discussion schedule page
(http://www.geocities.com/ravenclawlady/discussion.html)) and also then to
change the links on the group homepage (and anywhere else as necessary). I
could, if people want me too, copy the two pages (and any others that are
needed), and host then on my web space (putting in some reference to that
fact that Melanie created the pages and that I was updating them). This
would provide a solution for the next few months (my web space is provided
with my university e-mail account - I stop being a student here in June and
this e-mail account, and so web space, expires then), but we would need to
find a longer-term solution (I am basically offering to do this as a short
term measure until exact decisions about the FAQ web site are complete).
I am going away again, only for a couple of days this time (cooking for 80
by the sounds of things) - should be back late Sunday (in time for the chat
hopefully).
