You're not a moron and you've missed nothing, other that omitting to 
read one particular post on the main list last month. SYM is a prefix 
unilaterally introduced by a list member to denote posts touching on 
the symbolism of HP. It has no official standing and is not a 
requirement. But other posters have followed suit.
