Cindy, the settings are simple. You set it on messages so everyone can 
post, but close list archives to all but members. Then you make the 
*join* setting so people have to be approved. Every week or so, go and 
reject everyone who isn't on the faq list.

If you give me mod privs I could configure it in about 2 minutes.
