Just so that we all know and are on the same page, there are now ten out of our thirty members working on FP projects. Mysteries and Inconsistencies - was Cindy. Now unmanned. (Gryff) Weasleys - Jo Serenadust (Huff) Harry - Penny, Abigail, Dicey, Phyllis (Rav) Lupin - was Gail and Morgan. Now unmanned. (Slyth) Death Eaters - Tom and Amanda. WW Government - Debbie Quidditch - Ali Legal Issues - Heidi -Tom From Ali at zymurgy.org Tue Dec 2 20:32:28 2003 From: Ali at zymurgy.org (Ali) Date: Tue, 02 Dec 2003 20:32:28 -0000 Subject: Updated Assignments In-Reply-To: Message-ID: --- In HP4GU-FAQ at yahoogroups.com, "Tom Wall" wrote: > (Huff) Harry - Penny, Abigail, Dicey, Phyllis I have always said that I wanted to do Harry, so I don't know how my name got lost. Anyway, I can't do it until I have finished Quidditch... Also, I don't think now is the time to point fingers at anybody for what they may or may not be doing. People must feel that they are in a conducive environment to work in, before they are likely to come back. I hope we can all put any hard feelings aside. If there's anything I can do to make that easier, please let me know off list. As a contributor to the Mysteries FAQ I think it's an excellent candidate for time capsuling. I'll volunteer for a post-OOP version now, though I can't start working on it until January. I have a pretty good grasp of the big questions after OOP as I have gotten back to reading Main on a fairly consistent basis. It might be fun to do a Mysteries addendum on the old questions, but I think that can wait. Is any one else wondering if the Lupin FAQ is jinxed? In addition to incorporating all the government and justice-related posts from the enchilada, I've finished folding in the useful information from Penny's original, and in consequence I've refined the structure of the FP. For one thing, I've become more convinced that "Aurors" as well as "Wizarding Justice" properly belong here and not with the DEs, since I think their main opponent was the Order of the Phoenix. I'd like to revisit Amanda's questio of whether we're going to maintain an archive of the pre-OOP FPs as works in their own right, since I'd think we should retain the existing Government FP. There are a lot of interesting things in it (including Penny's and Lori Summers' speculative models of the MoM and International Confederation of Wizards) that should be retained, and I propose to cite to the original in the updated FP. I've still got a lot of work to do. I haven't begun to synthesize the material on the Aurors and other MoM employees, and while I've checked the posts identified as fantastic in our database, I haven't done a search of the post-OOP posts (though I do have a collection of emails on the Longbottoms). If anyone recalls any particularly noteworthy posts on any of these people, please let me know. And I haven't touched the Department of Mysteries (which I assume is under Government and not under Mysteries). I probably won't have much time to work on this project until the Christmas holidays begin. Debbie
