Oh, you guys can really catalogue when you put your minds to it!

At the end of 2002, we had completed a total of 10,132 messages.
December had been an inactive month for the FAQ team, and we only
catalogued a measly 2355 messages.

But now look! It is the beginning of February, and we have
completed. . .

<insert trumpet fanfare>

. . . . 16,338!!!! You know what this means, don't you? It means
that we did almost three times as many messages in January as we did
in December. In fact, January's totals are higher than any other
month's totals!

The bad news, though, is that we still have a little over 4000
messages yet to catalogue.

Which means we have a decision to make.

Option 1: We could continue cataloguing in February. If we worked
at the same pace we did in January, we could finish in three weeks.

Option 2: I could finish up by going through the remaining 4000
messages in webview and look for *really* Fantastic Posts. I
wouldn't read or catalogue everything –- I would look for posts that
really were special, either because of the subject matter or (more
likely) because of the author. I think I could finish up fairly
quickly, but the final product would reflect my interests and biases
to some extent.

Of those two choices, I think I'd prefer just going through quickly
and making note of the truly Fantastic Posts rather than extending
the cataloguing period for all of us. Depending on how fast I work,
I might even be able to catalogue the messages from 41,000-51,000 as
well. In the meantime, you all could begin writing FPs.

What do you all think?

Cindy
