Good catalog

Hey all:

This is just to say that the cataloging work, tiresome though it is,
is creating an amazing document.  I relied heavily on it when doing
research for my "Anatomy of a Rift" post.  Notice that I use lots of
quotes from listmembers -- I got them all from using the catalog!  I
think their words made a great contribution to the post (not to
mention the fact that bboy_mn had already included lots of direct
quotes from the book, so I just had to cut and paste). :D

Also, some of the really good stuff I got wasn't from the Fantastic
Posts that Cindy is now ferreting out. It came from shortish answers
in the middle of something that might seem kind of trivial but for my
purposes was essential, notably Jo Serenadust's observations that Ron
is a saint in Books 1-3.  Her bit about Ron's reaction to the Firebolt
is priceless -- much better than I would have put it -- and the fact
that it was an observation made independently of what I was doing made
it more persuasive, IMO.

Even though finding the more prominent Fantastic Posts is what the
FAQs are all about, the cataloging of the lesser content has its uses,
as I have discovered.  So I vote for eventually going back and
cataloging everything, or nearly everything, just as we have been doing.
