Well, not seeing the context of this, I can't say for sure BUT my guess

would be (Oct 1999 was after PoA but before GoF) that she was referring

to GoF specifically. She did say in another interview that I saw

that Harry would date neither Hermione nor Ginny in GoF but that he was

only 14 & had plenty of time to change his mind. She answered

all sorts of interview questions about *who* he would date in GoF as you

may recall -- once she let it out of the bag that he & the others would

discover the opposite sex, it became a favorite pre-GoF interview question.

And, of course, her answers led all of us to conclude that it would be

Cho. And, yes . . . Cho was his first crush but it remains to be

seen whether they'll actually date.

<p>In any case, I guess most H/H fans are resigned to Ron & Hermione

dating in the canon -- most of us just don't think it will last.

though, I'll be happy to update that FAQ as needed. Is there more

to it than that? I assume the whole interview was concerned with

GoF but maybe I'm off-base in that assumption.
