Hey, everyone!
I know some of you have varied opinions about this issue, but in a way it
affects all of us who read any type of HP-inspired fanfiction, artwork, or
other fan-related stuff not produced by Warner Brothers or Scholastic.
An article appeared on MSNBC about Harry Potter slash. The article is rather
well written and manages to remain more or less objective, but the responses
from Scholastic and Warner Brothers are anything but.
Rhysenn and Acassha are quoted extensively in the article. There is also an
informal survey with the question, "Do you think HP slashers should be
permitted to publish their writings?" When I voted, "Yes" was behind by
about 12%.
Regardless of how you feel about slash, but especially if you have ever
enjoyed any piece in which any HP character explores feelings of a
homoerotic nature for another HP character, please check out this article.
The survey of course has no real impact, but it is a way to be heard.
It opens the door to other attempts to impede our enjoyment of HP fandom.

P.S. In related news, I had the surreal experience of being interviewed by
Norwegian radio this morning....
