There are two ways to summarise this chapter:

The conventional summary:
Ron and Hermione manage to reach Hogwarts, unaware of the real reason they
were allowed to escape Malfoy Manor. They join up with Sirius' team and go
look for Harry. Will they find him and at what cost? Ah yes. Nasty
cliffhanger. But you must be used to these.

The shorter version:
This chapter only comes to prove that it's easier to put Draco in leather
when he's a Death Eater.
