Wedding Bells to Ring for HPfGU Couple

by Rita Skeeter

California, USA, February 14. Two longtime members of
Harry Potter for Grownups who met through the list
have found lasting romance. Joywitch M. Curmudgeon
and Amy Z (Lupinesque) will tie the knot this spring
in the presence of friends, family, and Harry Potter
fans.

Dr. Curmudgeon is an early member of Harry Potter for
Grownups, one of the select few who joined before the
release of Goblet of Fire. She has written several
Daily Prophet articles and created numerous puzzles
for the entertainment of the list. She also haunted
the Moderators list as a Poltergeist for years,
helping decide important matters of policy by throwing
eggs and blowing raspberries. She loves Hagrid,
Dumbledore, Hermione, Sirius Black, Madam Marsh, and
Amy Z.

Rev. Z (aka Miss Use of Muggle Artifacts) was ignorant
of Harry Potter until the fall of 2000, and joined
HPfGU only that Christmas, but rapidly became immersed
in, not to say sucked into, the list and the fandom.
She has been an Elf and Moderator and actually tried
to keep up with the flood of posts after OoP was
released, but was found washed up on a remote shore
soon after. She loves Remus Lupin, Dumbledore,
Hermione, Ernie Prang, and Joywitch.

The couple became acquainted through the list, met in
person at a New York City meetup in 2002, and became
close friends during the run-up to Order of the
Phoenix the following year, when they co-facilitated
the Moderators, Elves and Geists list. By the time
PoA: the Celluloid Version was released, they were
deeply in love and had decided to spend the rest of
their lives together, reading to each other and
raising little curmudgeons. We knew it was true love
when we admitted to each other that wed even turn
down admission to Hogwarts if the other couldnt come
along, said Lupinesque, blushing.

They share a few interests besides their passion for
the wizarding world: politics, books, music,
ceramics, games, cooking (Lupinesque: vegetarian;
Joywitch: children), and museums.

Informed that two lives would be united in matrimony
thanks in part to her books, J. K. Rowling remarked,
How sad. She would not confirm whether she and her
family will answer affirmatively to the invitation
soon to be issued to them, but hinted, Depends
whether it arrives by owl.

The wedding will not follow a Harry Potter theme. We
have SOME dignity, the couple explained.
