Die-hard fans and kitchen wizards (and you know who you are), Lumos
wants to taste your culinary delights!
Starting November 21, Lumos is hosting a Harry Potter recipe contest.
Send us your tried-and-true recipes for Cornish pasties, kippers,
black pudding, pumpkin juice, butterbeer, Hagrid's stoat sandwiches,
Ogden's Old Firewhiskey, and more!
Chef Andrew from the JW Marriott will judge the finalists and may use
the winner's recipes at Lumos' meals. Winning drinks may be served at
J.C. Wooloughan's Irish Pub and the Waterside Café.
The contest starts on November 21 and will end on December 16 - no exceptions.
Hurry and get yours in first! In the case of duplicate recipes, the
first recipe submitted will be considered.
Send your recipes to: recipecontest at ...
The contest categories are:
1) Recipes for foods listed in the Harry Potter books (please
include which book, chapter, and page number).
2) Other British recipes for foods not mentioned in the books
(vegan recipes welcome as well!).
3) Beverages: We would specifically like original recipes, both
alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for:
a) Firewhiskey
b) Butterbeer
c) Your own creation! (For example: a Purple Turban,
Dobby's Best, the Padfoot, the Norwegian Ridgeback, the Tonks, the
Death Eater, etc.)
Send us your recipes and be the toast of Lumos!
RULES FOR "THE WIZARDS' BREW AND BAKE-OFF"
1. All submissions must be sent in to recipecontest at ... by
Friday, December 16, 2005. No exceptions.
2. Submissions will be judged on a "first-come, first-considered" basis.
3. We ask that all submissions be ORIGINAL RECIPES, concocted and
tested by the sender. Please do not send in Mme. Rosmerta's recipe for
butterbeer from someone else's website. We would also like to keep
the recipes as "British" as possible, as that is our menu theme.
Vegetarian and vegan offerings are welcome.
4. Recipes will be judged by Lumos staff AND Chef Andrew from the JW
Marriott. All decisions will be final.
5. Winners will be announced in February, to be recognized at Lumos.
We will do our best to have the winning creations added to the menu
for Lumos, but this can not be guaranteed.
