SpellCast producer Sidney talked to Dan (who has some adorable things to say about Bonnie), Emma, Rupert, Devon, Imelda, Alfie, the Phelps brothers, David Heyman, Michael Goldenberg and more - and even caught a few words with JK Rowling. Lots of the interviewees - but not JKR - spoke about their predictions for Deathly Hallows. Sid also spoke to a bunch of fans, and found some Death Eaters lurking around. We'll be at the LA premiere of OotP this weekend, and will have more reports from London later today at: http://www.spell-cast.com http://fictionalley.blogspot.com http://fiction_alley.livejournal.com We're also looking for transcribers to help over the next month - if you're interested, let us know at spellcast @ fictionalley.org (without the spaces). Enjoy the videos! Bad timing, isn't it? Our main hard drive - the one that hosts all the fics and the "static" informational pages - has become physically damaged at our ISP's hosting location. We're in the process of doing a major data recovery, but it might take a day or three more. We'd planned to close submissions next week in the lead-up to the release of Deathly Hallows, but it looks like we need to do that now - we'll try to reopen for a few days pre-release but since it's all hardware-dependent, we can't guarantee when or for how long. The forums are still working, and if you know exact urls of stories, you should be able to read them via Archive.org - you can even find urls (if you know the author or title) via our Chapter Owls Yahoogroup (or the link from there to the current Google Group). Email us at help at ... if you have any questions. Fancy a bit of roleplaying in your favourite Potterverse? Got a bit of a soft spot for Australia? Welcome to Tallygarunga Academy of Magic. The most carefully laid plans always go awry. Or at least, that seems to be a constant theme around Tallygarunga, where it seems that every good event is just a precursor to something more sinister. There's a new bad guy in town, and he's making waves. He's already got the History professor by the hairys, or so he thinks - is anyone going to stop him before he takes over the town of Narragyambie completely? But outside of that, everyone has problems of their own. Seems the Headmaster can't go a day without being pestered by his staff, who always seem to have a knack of finding trouble wherever it is, mixing vampires in with the students has turned out some rather interesting results, not to mention the werewolves Alan thought would so harmlessly fit into the school. Set in Australia, Tallygarunga is the Australian alternative to Hogwarts - and all our plot lines are devised and created by the players. We have original classes such as musiciary and creative visual magic - as well as your old favourites from the HP books. It's crazy, it's quirky - and it's currently accepting students, professors and residents of all ages - with plans to fill in some prefect and head of house positions by the end of the term. So join the magic today... and say g'day to Tallygarunga Academy of Magic! Link: http://www.tallygarunga.com Cheers! As many of you know, HPfGU will be closing the main list to give everyone a chance to read the book without being spoiled, but it's possible that some of you might want to discuss the book before the list opens. There's a lot of places on the internet where you can - you can post a review on Amazon, or go to a newspaper's comments section or talk amongst your friends - but there aren't many places where you can discuss each chapter as you finish it, without much concern about being spoiled for forthcoming chapters. I don't think you can see it yet, but FA's Chapter by Chapter forum will be at http://forums.fictionalley.org/park/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=248 - BEWARE of chapter titles in that forum! On LiveJournal, there's http://community.livejournal.com/discuss_book7/ which also has chapter-by-chapter formatting, and there's also http://community.livejournal.com/hallows_reviews where you can post reviews of the entire book. These forums will all open tomorrow (Friday) for discussion of the last Harry Potter book. Enjoy! Heidi FictionAlley.org Creativity is magic! SpellCast , FictionAlley's official podcast has recently released a new episode all related to the Order of the Phoenix Movie, which even features the movie's music composer, Nicholas Hooper! SpellCast Special: OotP Movie: After some technical issues and most of our staff members running for the hills to get away from Deathly Hallows' spoilers or hibernating over the weekend to read the book, we finally release our special OotP episode! However, this new episode is totally worth the wait and here's why: - Greg Foster, president of IMAX , sits down with Gwendolyn Grace to talk about about the 3D conversion process of the last twenty minutes of the Order of the Phoenix movie. - Josh finally gets his opportunity to chat with Nicholas Hooper about the music score of Order of the Phoenix!! - Sidney talks with Duff Goldman, host of Ace of Cakes on the Food Network, about the Hogwarts castle cake he made for the Order of the Phoenix premiere after party. - Finally to wrap everything up, a group of SpellCasters sit down to discuss their thoughts and feelings on the Order of the Phoenix movie. Also, we want to thank Hank from http://www.brotherhood2.com/ for allowing us to use his song, "Accio Deathly Hallows". Be sure to check out his and his brother's highly amusing blog, it's totally made of awesome.
