Ascendio will be HPEF's final event

Just wanted to let people know, as we tweeted about this during our Board
Meeting last night, but the HPEF Board has decided not to plan for, or take
bids for, a 2013 event. Ascendio is the last one on the roster. So come on
down to Orlando in July, and let's make this a gala celebration so we go
out in style. We're wrapping up where we began (give or take about ten
miles) and there's something poetic about that.

We do have a few updates about plans for the amazingness that will be
Ascendio:

1. The price for a Full registration goes up by $25 in about a week; more

2. Our Call for Participants in the Fashion Show is live:

experience for cosplayers, between the Wanded & Fabulous fashion show and
the ability to wear costumes in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter during

perfect chance to wear robes, cosplay as your favorite book or film
character, or create a character just for yourself.

3. Check out our Call for Art! We're looking for art for the gallery, and

4. Tickets are still available for Night of a Thousand Wizards 2, and you
can now get tickets for friends and family who're joining you in Orlando
but not coming to Ascendio's programming sessions. Click

5. Authors Aimee Carter, Kaza Kingsley, Beth Revis, Michelle Hodkin, Lev
Grossman and Veronica Roth will be doing readings and signings, as well as
panel discussions about YA, publishing and storytelling.

6. A dozen members of Team StarKid are hosting a live "DVD Commentary" for
A Very Potter Musical, as well as a meet & greet and a bunch of panels.

HPEF's final event, Ascendio, will take place from July 12 - 15 at the
