Ah, not as smart as you think, it wasn't her original idea, it was 
Rainy Lilac. Check post 3298 in the Yahoo Club and Joy's reply 3299.

These two posts started a Sirius-dying thread, which can be read 
easily by clicking 'p' on 'Predictions, no canon, Book 4'. Posts

There are also some uncanny accurate ones on what Trelawny's 
prediction was all about way back in the Yahoo club..I'll see if I
