No, I don't think it was feeling very poetic, it just let fly a 
volley of abuse, questioning my ability to perform two (even very 
simple) activities at the same time.  I told it in no uncertain 
terms that if it tried flinging itself into any other non-bookshelf 
related medium I would have it summarily shot, and go back to using 
my hardback copy.  Upon which it replied that I should curse the day 
that I was born, and go play in some traffic.

I think I'll put off the idea of balancing the laptop on the soap-
rack.
