PROGRESS ON CATALOGUING PROJECT AS AT 1st July 2005

68487 posts catalogued in total
39826 posts rejected in total (58.1%)
11926 posts catalogued in June

We have reached post 61393 on the main list, the last post before
publication of OOP. This was the target we set ourselves at the
beginning of last month, and we have achieved it with approx three
weeks to go before HBP is published on July 16th.

The whole group has now stopped coding and is concentrating on
completing our category reviews by that date. Currently we have
completed 64 of our 106 review sections.

Unfortunately our hope of launching a beta version of the catalogue
search screens for testing by that date is now not going to be
possible.

This programming work is solely in the hands of Paul & Tim, and both
of them are working on other projects at present (FictionAlley and
Accio respectively). They hope to get to the catalogue work towards
the end of July.

The new plan, therefore, is that we get the reviews done and then
cease activity on the catalogue so that the whole group can enjoy HBP
mania over the summer. During this time, we hope that the UI will be
developed, and that it can be got to work with the posts that we have
catalogued so far.

We suggest that this is then launched to the membership, and
separately, the group begins work on the next set of posts (OOP and
beyond).
