Characterisation--WOO HOO!!

I know, you thought I was the One Who Left Forever Right? Or perhaps
Too Cowardly to Return, hehe. Nope, just had a rough summer getting
over that dumb nerve problem in my arms and a few computer problems
on the side, although none so complicated as Miss H's.

*Pauses to wonder if the daring penguin solved the tech problems or
if the silence from Miss is a Very Bad Sign*.

Anyhoo, yes, Characterisation is **finally** complete. Here's a wrap-
up and a Q for the group:

Characterisation 45 down from 53
Originality and Stereotypes 199 down from 517
PACMAN 5 (stayed same)
HONDA 2 (stayed same)
Character Development 88 down from 136
Generational Parallels 94 down from 155

There were only two issues worth mentioning for the category, and
only one Q. for the group:

1)Characterisation--This category was very light on posts and I
think the main reason is because most went into individual character
categories. Most of the posts here talk about characterisation in
more technical literary terms and I think that's fine for this
particular category. If someone feels strongly about doing it
another way, tell me now.

*****QUESTION*****

2) Here's the biggie I need some input on. There was crossover
between Originality/Stereotypes and Character Development and I
think it was due to the definition for Orig/Stereo:

"General posts about how JKR uses characterisation to advance the
plot, reveal themes, etc."

What I chose to do was move some of the posts in Orig/Stereo into
Char. Develop. and drop the code from others because the posts were
also coded to another characterisation category which was a better
fit.

The ones I left in Orig/Stereo were ones that mainly dealt with
questions like: "Is Voldemort the sterotypical villain? Harry the
stereotypical hero? What does JKR do with her characters which is
original for this type of literature?"

So if everyone is ok with that, I'd like to change the definition of
Originality and Use of Stereotypes to something like this:

"Posts about how JKR uses either sterotypical or original characters
to advance the plot or reveal themes, etc."

OK, that about sums it up. I'll change the definition if no one is
opposed to it.
