when written; canon was inconsistent. I'd want to preserve some of these
arguments, even if JKR does claim that they're wrong. A history of the
fandom wouldn't be complete otherwise. Besides, at the rate JKR is going,
she'd soon make the cataloguing project obsolete if we took that approach.
