Sadly, this has also been my experience.  As I find the message 
board style itselfextremely frustrating in other ways as well, (I'm 
more comfortable in a forum style where threads are seperated from 
each other instead of all mixed up,) I gave up and became an 
occasional lurker.  Lots of great ideas on these boards.
