Me: <<<NO! Do not try and use the train. Buses between Oxford and London or
Heathrow are very good and are a much better option than the train.>>>
Dai: <<< I'd have to disagree. Taking the bus means navigating either London or
the M25 traffic. The train just goes straight through. The trains have been bad
in the last year, but that's almost completely sorted out now. Especially busy
tracks like the ones we're descussing. Occasionally you get the odd disruption
(like my experience on the HP4GU london meet in March), but they are few and far
between. I'd definately say take the train.>>>

To take the train from Heathrow to Oxford involves changing at Reading and a
two-hour journey.
To take the bus involves no changes and a 1-1/2 hour journey (possibly rising to
2 hours in the rush hour).

If I were doing the journey, especially with lots of luggage, I would take the
bus. The drivers on the bus are more helpful with loading and unloading your
stuff. Also there are usually free papers on the bus. The rush hour traffic is
not that bad and getting through it does not take too long (also you are not
having to do anything on the bus - you just get on at one end and off at the
other).
