*cough* Things wrong with Micras... let me compile a short list...
1. They're too small, the seat doesn't go back far enough for me to
stretch my legs out.
2. They're gutless. You can hold them in first 'till about 30 with
your foot to the floor and all that happens is the rear end becomes
unstable. There's just no acceleration, anywhere in the rev range.
3. The steering wheel is too big.
4. The gearbox leans to the right, so you keep chucking it into third
when you're aiming for first and stall the bitch.
5. The clutch is clunky and all comes on above half way up. This
makes them easy to stall, especially if you've mistakenly selected
third.
6. Pulling away from a T-junction into a space in traffic fast enough
to keep up with said traffic invariably leads to wheelspin on the
inner side of the turn.
7. It's impossible to wheelspin in second.
8. It doesn't have air conditioning anywhere across the range. I
wouldn't mind, but the windows are manual across the range as well.
9. The tyres are too thin. It slides in the wet, front end first.
This is not a good handling characteristic.
10. It's a Nissan, hence the fuel filler is on the wrong side.
11. The arial is too long. This means that instead of the carwash
just bending it when you forget to take it off, it can rip the damn
thing out of the roof as well, mountings and all.
12. The switches are clicky
13. The dash is an expanse of plastic
14. People laugh at you when you drive them. And you can't shut them
up by dropping it into second and hoofing it, 'cause you'll probably
get fourth, and even if you do get second, nothing will happen except
the engine screaming for dear life.
15. OK, I'll leave it at that.
It's one saving grace is that it has a typical Nissan tight
handbrake. Which is fun. As the flatspots on the rear tyres of the
Micras at work will testify.
