Sorry about the length of this.......
As promised, here are some final instructions for 15th November, plus a list
of whom I have tickets for. I am having a few personal problems at the
moment, so I hope this all makes sense. If not, please let me know. I will be
posting bits of this in different places (Scared_Potter, HPfGU London, COS
LJ), so apologies for the cross-posting
I know that there will be other people joining this group for both the
afternoon and evening screenings. Unfortunately I haven't been able to
track down all the names, so I have just listed those I have actually
purchased tickets for.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS
FRIDAY 15th NOVEMBER 2002
A) KINGS CROSS -- BEFORE THE FILM
A meeting is planned at Kings Cross Station for anyone who fancies the
idea of photos at platform ten and three quarters -- no running at the wall
please. It's a long time since I have just gone to a platform at a station and
once upon a time one would have to purchase a platform ticket to get
through the barriers. I don't know if this is still the case. Be prepared to
maybe having to buy one.
The time: 10am (to give us time to fool around at the station)
The place: Kings Cross Station. Please loiter around Platform 9. Just look
for the strange people dressed in red/gold or green/silver!!!
If you are planning on coming along, please let me know
(frances.potter at ...)
I understand that there are major works going on at the station and that
you need to get to Platform 9 through "the back door", whatever that
means. The station has its own tube station (Kings Cross/St Pancras) and
can be reached on the following underground lines: Victoria, Northern,
Circle, Metropolitan, Piccadilly or Hammersmith & City.
For a London tube map, check out http://www.multimap.com/map/
tube.cgi?client=public&tsize=500&tmap=to
If you check out this map for the Arran Hotel (where several of us are
staying), Kings Cross is near Euston Station (top right), Leicester Square is
bottom right. http://www.london-hotel.co.uk/where.html
We'll be leaving Kings Cross by about 11am, unless people want to stay
there to have some lunch etc. Otherwise we can get the tube back down to
Leicester Square (Piccadilly line)
-----------------------------------
B) THE FILM ITSELF
AFTERNOON PERFORMANCE
The time: From 12.30pm
The place: Odeon Leicester Square.
Meeting point: In the centre of the Square is a statue of Charlie Chaplin.
There is (or there was on 27th October) a statue of a flying cow complete
with cloak as well (just don't ask - I have no idea why there is a full-size
flying cow statue).
IN CASE OF RAIN: We'll be outside the cinema or somewhere under cover
For those coming on the tube, you need either Leicester Square or
Piccadilly Circus. It's a little further to walk from Piccadilly Circus, but tourists
might like to have a quick look at the Statue of Eros, which is Located at
Piccadilly Circus.
Head Girl Ina has a BLUE HP UMBRELLA with Harry, Hermione and Ron
on brooms looking for the key. She will be waving it around near the flying
cow!!!!
PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 1.10pm.
I will remain outside the cinema until 1.10pm at the latest, so if you arrive
after that, it will be too late. My mobile phone number is 07734 106836.
Can someone from each little group make sure they have this number so
they can contact us in case of problems in getting to the cinema.
EVENING PERFORMANCE
The time: From 7.30pm
The place: Odeon Leicester Square.
Hopefully we would have all met up by this time. If not, we can meet up as
above from about 7.30pm.
PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE 8.10pm.
-----------------------------------
C) BETWEEN SHOWS
The film should be finished by 5pm. With the later performance not being
until 8.30, we have plenty of time to chat and eat etc. Michelle has kindly
booked tables at Pitcher and Piano, 40 - 42 King William IV Street, WC2N
4DO. It is a short walk from Leicester Square). If you have already ordered
food, then Michelle will be sorting that out.
For those not eating there, please note the time of evening show - we'll all
meet up again at the cinema. Remember it will probably take a little while to
get served at this time and you need to be back at the cinema by about
8pm.
For those only coming to the evening show, you can either join everyone
earlier in the evening at the Pitcher and Piano (we promise not to give away
the plot) or meet at the cinema. See note above about times.
-----------------------------------
Well, I think that is probably as clear as mud. If there are any problems,
please post onlist or email me directly.
Thanks
Frances
