Well, there's a few of us around. :-) I'm in Middlesbrough, well within
commuting distance, and know another fan in Middlesbrough as well. I
know at least one student at Durham University who'd almost certainly be
interested and once found someone in Houghton-le-Spring who probably
would be too. One of my friends from Oxford has a friend in the fandom
from Newcastle, though I'm not sure if there's been some double-counting
already - for instance, I can't remember the names and so you might be
one of the people I've mentioned already.
On top of that I believe there's at least one fan in Alnwick (not
counting those who became fans because of local participation in the
films); further afield, I know someone in Lancaster, someone in
Yorkshire and even some of the folk in Scotland may not be too far out
of range for a potential meeting. Those are /just/ the (semi-)local fans
who I know about already - could well be scads of others who have not
yet popped up on the radar. :-)
I think that a weekend day in Durham in March (specifically, just after
the end of the university term) looks like the favourite. I may well try
to put out feelers to try to get something slightly more formal
organised soon. Interested?
All best wishes,
Chris
