Hi Meidbh,

A belated welcome to the group...

I also thought the PoA film improved on a second viewing. I managed to put
aside thoughts of variance from the book, which cluttered my brain on the
first viewing.

It's always quiet here unless we're planning a meeting. We don't have
anything in the pipeline at the moment, but could perhaps think about doing
something in August.

Is anyone up for a general meet up?

Neil

Hello!

I have just joined your group and I see you've been VERY quiet since
seeing PoA - stunned into silence? So what did you all think?

I read the book again the night before I first saw the film and I
think that was a really silly thing to do. All I could see in the
film were the discrepancies in the storyline, Harry, Ron and
Hermione seemed too old, too self conscious and where were the
wizarding robes?! I was really disappointed.

But being a complete Potter addict I gave it another try in a better
cinema (Leicester Square!) with less excited anticipation and I
loved it. Yes, it is rather lumpy and liberties have been taken with
the storyline but the whole atmosphere was wonderful. I left the
cinema grinning from ear to ear and half expecting to stumble into
the Leaky Cauldron!

Long live the wizarding world!

Hope to talk to you all soon.

Meidbh
