Subject: [HPFGU-London] Meeting up (?8th Aug)
Hi all,
If we're planning for August (which means Ali wouldn't be able to make it),
it looks like next Sunday (8th) may be the best option, based on the
responses.
I can't do 14th/15th weekend.
The 8th is only other weekend day Ben mentioned.
Sam is in Oxfordshire, so I'm guessing a weeknight is out.
Sarah and Carolyn are available and haven't stated any 'off' days.
Ali can't make August weekends.
Meidbh triggered off this thread, but hasn't said anything about meeting up.
There are also several other people [looks around room] who've been to
previous gatherings, but haven't posted.
Tabouli is in London next week, but I'm not sure if she'll still be here on
the 8th.
Weather allowing, I guess it would be nice to do something outside. We
*could* take a look at the brick wall in Charing Cross Road that I pretend
is the entrance to The Leaky Cauldron, but it isn't terribly exciting: I
don't think JKR was too hot on London locations when she started writing the
HP series (she confused King's Cross Station with Paddington, IIRC).
One possibility is the South Bank, by the river. We've met there before,
outside the NFT cafe/bar, and there is usually a book fair along the
walkway. If anyone has any other ideas, please speak up.
Is anyone wanting to go for a meal, or are you happy with just a
drink/wander?
Neil
