I have never really got into fanfic, though that's not for any 
principled reason - I just have to draw the line somewhere.  (I 
hasten to add that I mean reading: I don't claim that I could write 
fiction if I could just find a spare moment for it.)

I read my first Neil Gaiman (Stardust) recently and really liked 
it.  I used to read science fiction a lot but it's been a long 
time.  Currently reading 'He Died With A Felafel In His Hand' by 
John Birmingham, a present from Tabouli.

I recently decided to try out a book reading group IRL - so far I 
have been to one meeting.
