YES! I was so dissapointed when I heard that John Williams was
writing the music, and not Hans Zimmer. I think Williams is a great
composer, but I just really didn't think his music was right for the
books. The first book, perhaps, but not the second, and certainly not
the 3rd and 4th. He just can't get dark enough, but I suppose he's
signed a 3 film contract, like most of the rest of the cast and crew.
I thought the PS score had its moments, but on the whole I found it
to emotionless and kitsch for Harry Potter. If Hans Zimmer had done
it, there's no doubt that we *would* have had a better film (IMHO, it
was his score that made the difference of Gladiator being a very good
film and a fantastically special film).
