  I believe we're probably supposed to get from Hooch's remark that Slytherin and
Gryffindor already have a reputation from previous years of playing especially hard
and loose against each other.  She has to make a point to verbally disapprove of it
before the game starts.  Her statement actually gives us another clue about the
rivalry between Oliver and Marcus.
