Seventeen points against the movie (not all L.O.O.N.) and five pros

Now I must disagree with you (but in part I also agree) yes, if he 
was not approachable then he would not be effective, but from some of 
the posts I've read, they were expecting a constantly grinning, 
gormless clown, which isn't like the book, because in the book, as 
you know, we also see his serious side. The whole point is that the 
film was supposed to have a darker side than the books. In reality if 
we were going through this kind of situation how would we be.. I work 
in a school and I run a UK version of Day Care and I am well known 
for my sense of humour, but as you know, working in a school 
environment, it is impossible to go 24/7 looking happy....I was at 
the premiere, and heard J K Rowling talking about bringing the story 
true to life...this is one way of doing it!
