Actually, the stranger who really might be the disguised Quirrel is
the man who wants to know about how to get past the dog. That is not
the same person who sells the dog to Hagrid. Sorry.
Generally I disagree with you guys. I loved the implication that
Hagrid really bought Cerberos, the guarding dog of the Greek Hades
and named it Fluffy.
