I was strolling through my favourite second-hand bookshop the other day;
they sell albums and magazines as well as books. I happened to see the
October 2001 edition of Vanity Fair; not that I normally buy Vanity Fair,
but that's the HP edition, with the photos by Liebowitz. Worth seeing!

You're probably all yawning, having bought the magazine back when it was
published. Shall I come out of the closet now and say, back in October of
last year, I had no interest in seeing the HP movie. I had such an
emotional attachment to the books, the cast (with the possible exception of
Alan Rickman) didn't bear any resemblance to my images of the characters,
and I basically thought that it would be another Hollywood foul-up.

What changed my mind? Well, it was actually a 'still' from the movie; of
Diagon Alley. That was *exactly* how I had pictured it. So I thought, hey,
why not? and called the cinema on the day when the first preview was shown;
they had plenty of seats...and the rest is history.

Regards,
Nicholas
