Now me:
In the book, Ron kicks Lockhart in the shins (or at least Harry
thinks so, judging by the sound - he can't see, since they're behind
the rock wall at this point). So the movie decided to have Ron hit
Lockhart with a rock instead of kicking him in the shins. I never
understood why JKR had Ron kick Lockhart in the shins in the first
place. It seemed out of place in the book, and it also seemed out of
place in the movie.
Constance Vigilance again:

Me again:
I meant to put this in my mega-post - I completely agree, the movie
makers lost one of the great lines here ("I expect I was hopeless").
Especially when Dumbledore says "Impaled upon your own sword,
Gilderoy?" and Lockhart responds "Sword? Haven't got one. This boy
does, though." To me, these were some of the funniest lines in the
entire book, and I'm surprised they left them out of the movie.
