Forest". We all know that despite the warnings that Dumbledore gives
the students about the forest being out of bounds etc...Still, Harry
and co. find themselves going there (like for detention). If in the
movie, the word Forbidden was used, then why would Hagrid allow them
to go there for detention? It will defeat the purpose of the
name "forbidden". And people could get the wrong message from this
also by asking, "Hey! If it's alright for Harry and co. to go to the
Forbidden forest, then there is nothing really wrong with it being
*forbidden* right?" Wrong.

But that's what happens in the book. For detention, Harry, Hermione,
Neville, and Malfoy go into the forest to help Hagrid find the hurt
unicorn. That's why Malfoy goes crazy saying he'll tell his father
and all.

The forest is forbidden to students, but not necessarily to
teachers. As they are going in the forest with Hagrid, it is
seemingly okay. The forest is still otherwise forbidden to pupils.
