>> I've seen the film twice now, and even though he isn't listed in the credits at all, I would swear with my last breath that Jim Dale did the voices for the sorting hat and the snake. My husband disagrees with me, but it certainly sounded like him.

Katze - Oh, I know that someone else got the credit listing, but I was wondering if those credited names weren't some type of "Alan Smithee" thing going on, and that Dale did the actual voices. For those of you who don't know, Alan Smithee is the name a director uses whenever he doesn't want to be associated with a very bad film s/he's just done, or if s/he just want to remain anonymous on a project for one reason or another. Not that HP was a bad movie! Quite the contrary!

Jeralyn, the Voicelady (who does voice work for a living and generally has a pretty good ear - that's why I'm so befuddled)
