I agree. I have a degree in acting. And, while a majority of actors
I've worked with are outgoing, there are plenty who aren't. It has
nothing to do with how they come across on screen. After all, just
look at the roles people play! I mean, I've played some pretty racy
roles and I'm a really innocent type person. Dan can certainly be a
shy, well mannered young man, then turn around and act the part of a
wizard who defeats a dark lord. And, I find his shyness REALLY
endearing.
(Yes, I am joining that "too old to have a crush on Dan support
group." I was relieved to hear other people have the same feeling. I
mean, I'm not old enough to be his mom or anything, but WAY to old
to date him. Now, anyway. ;-) hehe. I just want to look at him and
be his friend and go on adventures with him, and eat dinner with him
and... ok. I've made my points. Bye!

can tell you that a majority of performers are painfully shy. That
is one of the reasons *why* they perform. It's a way to a) overcome
that shyness and/or b) hide behind a roll, because sometimes it's
easier to pretend being someone else than exposing yourself.
