Well, I think it says something that the NY Post wrote "No sour
grapes." Um... YEAH, RIGHT! I know you can't judge people you don't
know. But, if I had to make a bet, I would say that was totally a
business move. There has been a lot of talk about Spielburg wanting
Osment as Harry. I read Osment had even started taking dialect
lessons to learn a British dialect. You can see right through that
statement, if you ask me. I mean, if he really thinks that, well,
who cares. I don't mean that to be unkind. I just mean, if he
weren't trying to make a point, why make a statement like that at
all? You cannot tell me he would not have accepted that role, if
offered. I for one, though I think Osment is a good actor, shudder
to think of him as HP. The first thing I said when I read of that
possibility was, "Oh, no!" I firmly believe it should be an unknown
actor to portray HP. Otherwise, people would be watching the movie
and thinking, "There's that kid from Sixth Sense." I think they
could not have picked a better actor to portray Harry. And I applaud
J.K. for standing up to the lure of a famous Hollywood director and
keeping the integrity of the movie intact.
