know) the shield never did show up in the film. (I assume it was in the case with
James Potter's quidditch award.) So it has become a non-issue.

> Erm, you're getting a bit confused I think - this shield is for the 2nd book and
2nd film, not the first film. I wouldn't have expected to see it in the Quidditch
trophy area - after all, they have a whole room for trophies, and doubtless lots
of cases for the different sorts of shields and cups.
Erm yourself, here's the article describing it from November 2000, which said:
"The Harry Potter crew may have upped sticks from Oxford and moved on to
locations unknown but Empire Online's spies never sleep and have struck paydirt
yet again with the first ever shots of the Hogwarts trophy cabinet taken on set
at Christ Church college.
"The Quidditch cup was on full display, engraved with the names of two previous
seekers, the position Harry plays for the Gryffindor team. . . .
"Last but by no means least is a very special award for one Tom Riddle, the
importance of which won't become apparent until the second film. However,
those of you who have read Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets may
notice that Riddell's name is spelled differently from the novel, something that
could prove problematic to the storyline of Harry's second outing."
