I also agree that Ewan McGregor would make a great Lupin.  I 
realized this while watching him as Obi-Wan in Star Wars Episode 
II.  In regards to the objection that he is too young to be a 
contemporary of Snape, I think the problem is that Alan Rickman
(while he did play an excellent Snape) is too old for Snape's 
character.  Rickman is in his mid 50s and Snape is supposed to be in 
his mid 30s.  Ewan McGregor, on the other hand, is just the right 
age to play Lupin.
