I'm new to this list. I just thought I would jump in with my two
cents on the casting of Lupin and Sirius. It's a subject I'm quite
passionate about, since Lupin and Sirius are two of my favourite
characters.
First of all, I don't think we need to be really bound by Alan
Rickman's age in casting Lupin and Sirius. First of all, Lupin is
supposed to look "youthful". Second of all, you can just say that
Snape didn't age as well as Lupin and Sirius.
My own choices for the roles are:
Sirius: Michael Praed. He played Robin of Loxley on the 80s series
"Robin of Sherwood". He turned 42 this year, which I think is a good
age for someone playing Sirius. He's got a nice, intense look which I
think Sirius should have.

picture, which I just think screams Sirius. He has aged nicely since
this picture. He just needs to dye his hair (as he has gone grey)
Lupin: Ralph Fiennes. He's from "The Avengers", "Schindler's List"
"The English Patient" and "Quiz Show". In most movies, looks WAY too
clean for Lupin. But give him a bit of stubble (which is how I always
pictured Lupin) and muss up his hair and he would be PERFECT.

Both actors are Brits too, which I think is neccessary for HP.
