Where was 'HP' shot?

Thanks to everyone who has responded to me off-list about the
location of the exterior shot of 'The Leaky Cauldron', and thanks
for the welcome to the group. I'm not sure that the mystery is
solved, and I may not have been clear about exactly which shot I
meant. Let me try to describe it more closely:-
After Harry and Hagrid leave the island, you get a general shot of
the Houses of Parliament and River Thames. The next shot is
Harry and Hagrid walking outside Leadenhall Market (the big
white building), opposite Kent's grocery store. (It is definitely
Leadenhall Market; you can actually see the name above the
arch). It's the next shot that I am trying to pin down; where they
approach the black facade of the 'Leaky Cauldron', and the pub's
name fades in on the sign-board. I don't think that it is a set; look
at the surrounding buildings. To the right, there is what is
obviously a second-hand bookstore, complete with a rack of
books outside and an intercom and a sign saying 'More Books
Upstairs'. To the left is either an antiques store or a thrift store; it
seems to have a name beginning with 'C'. It's all a bit too
shabby, a bit too genuinely London, to be a set.
I have heard vague rumours that it was shot in Charing Cross
Road (which is famous for its second-hand bookstores), but I
walked up and down that street a couple of weeks ago, and
nothing matched.
Does this shed any light on the subject?
Thanks and regards,
Nicholas
