Daniel Radcliffe mediocre?

I've just read the Sunday Times review of Harry Potter and the
Chamber of Secrets. Apart from saying that the film should be
called "Hermione Grainger and the Chamber of Secrets", the reviewer
went on to say that one of the main problems with Harry was Daniel
Radcliffe: he is a mediocre actor. I was a little surprised by this.
Firstly, it was contrary to my own views of his acting in this film
and secondly because the general opinion seems to be that he has
improved considerably.

I also read another review recently which said that Daniel Radcliffe
was the "outstanding exception" to iffy child acting. This only
serves to prove that whatever you read the only answer is to see the
film yourself and reach your own conclusions. I personally really
warmed to Dan this time - and I did have some concerns about him in
PS/SS. I really enjoyed his performance and will be gutted if someone
else takes over as Harry after PoA.
