I think so...but I still doubt he's capable of it if there's a better-
than-even chance of his getting caught.  And with Dumbledore close 
by, there's a better-than-even chance.  My remaining thoughts on the 
subject are posted elsewhere.

I don't know if it had to do with Shirley Henderson's performance or 
the fact that my mind was wired to it at the time, but I really began 
to appreciate how truly awful Myrtle's fate is.  First off, she died 
in a public restroom, which for my money is one of the most 
undignified places to meet the Reaper.  Secondly, she's stuck forever 
as an adolescent, facing generation after generation of mean-spirited 
kids throwing things at her and making fun of her acne.  I'm certain 
that would be my fate in the next world, if I don't behave myself in 
this one.  No wonder she's so cranky.
