Also, I'd think Brosnan would present the same kind of problem 
mentioned in regards to Hugh Grant when he was in the running for 
Lockhart: his offscreen personality would overpower the character he 
was playing.

Hmmm...I hadn't thought of him for the role, but he's sufficiently 
talented that I'd willingly give him the benifit of the doubt if he 
were cast :-)
