the eye thing

I have mulled this one over and over. What is it about the eyes?
The one thing I noticed in the first movie, the flashback to the
night Harry's parents died, you know what I noticed? I noticed that
when Voldemort's wand was pointed at little Harry, Harry just stared
at him. He didn't flinch, or flee, he just looked at Voldemort.
Now, my personal take on this (which may have absolutely nothing to
it, of course) is that when a person is running from/trying to get
away or block AK, he is killed. BUT, when someone (like Harry, for
instance) faces it head on, there might be a possibility of
deflecting it. I know, sounds stupid and I am probably not saying
this the way I want to. Maybe, just maybe, when you look right at
that person who is trying to AK you, you can somehow deflect it. I
don't know.....but if you look at baby Harry, he's staring right at
Voldemort. There has to be something there. Just my idiotic two
cents worth.
