first movie is we talked about digitally changing every shot to
green. But if you look at a human being, I mean, nobody really
studies it until you make a film, you can't, people with blue eyes,
particularly, in a room like this they'll go dark and almost look
brown. If you take them outside they're bright blue. Put them on a
set like the Chamber of Secrets, they'll go greener, because the
sequence itself is green. So we didn't touch it, I swear to you.
There's nothing that's been altered. The first movie, our effects
people said, we barely have time to finish the movie, turning his
eyes green in every shot is not going to work.

Me:
Tut tut, Lilac, you must have missed both Helen and my heartfelt
apologies. Qv. Msg 3575 and 3576. In messages of this kind, one
cannot read emotion or intent. Neither of our comments were meant
to be malicious or demeaning in any way. I have a rather wicked
sense of humor and online, since no one can see when I am teasing or
being a bit sarcastic, and the winking emoticon is not exactly
right, I can come off as a bit sniffy. Both our objections were to
arguments which basically repeated themselves. It didn't seem as if
anyone was considering what had already been said, that is all.
Really, I'm a very nice person.
Now, this post is interesting and merits some discussion. I think,
perhaps Columbus' comments would squelch the idea about CG-ing in
green eyes and the mysterious changes in Daniel's eye color in the
third trailer. It will be interesting to see if the environmental
influences Columbus discusses will be at all distracting during the
film. I think that knowing what to expect and exactly why Daniel's
eyes will remain blue, will greatly ease canon-based fans' anxieties.
