The Big Dog

When Sirius appears as a dog, I was convinced he was a lurcher of some kind, this would look good on the screen, dramatic hairy dog, long muzzle, etc..  However, having finished PoA again, which quotes Sirius as sounding *suddenly like the bear sized dog he had been* a newfoundland sounds a better idea.  

However, I then read on and found *I was thin, very thin..... thin enough to slip through the bars*  Now I'm sorry but even a newfoundland in advanced stages of malnutrition could not squeeze through bars that are even close to prison bars in terms of width apart etc.,  (this is guess work, not being a convicted felon...).

I did think of an irish wolf hound, except I think they mght be too tall.  It would still be raffish and quite dashing, a bit like SB himself. I finally settled on somethign the build of a doberman or dalmation but with lots of hair, however, not being too knowledgeable about dogs this is as far as I have got.

And fnallyI don't think in my haert of hearts that Ewan will play Lupin. *sorry*
